Dunmore East
Dunmore East is a picturesque little fishing village in the east of County Waterford. The village is perched on the edge of a cliff and overlooks sandy coves and beaches that are ideal for swimming, snorkelling, just relaxing and walking.
The village is a fisherman’s haven. Mackerel fishing is prevalent on summer evenings. For something a little different join Deep Sea Charters aboard the Keltoi Warrior for shark and wreck fishing or bring the whole family for a dolphin watching trip.
Dunmore East Adventure Centre is a popular holiday resort providing several activities for all ages including sailing, windsurfing, archery, kayaking, power boating and orienteering. It’s ideal for a family activity holiday. Golf courses are easily accessible from the village if you want to base yourself in Dunmore East for a golfing holiday.
Accommodation in the area is provided mostly by self-catering cottages however there are some B&Bs and hotels too taking care of the tourist industry for the area. Pubs and restaurants specialising in fresh fish, of course, and many other culinary delights are situated on the beaches and in the upper part of the village.
Walks: Guides are available in the local shops for walkers taking them on wonderfully scenic routes throughout the local area, via the cliffs or along the coves. Overlooking the Atlantic coast there are superb views plus wildlife to see.
Dunmore East Bluegrass Festival is authentic bluegrass music throughout the village, indoors and outdoors every August and music enthusiasts come from far and wide.
Dunmore East is Waterford county’s little jewel.
