Passage East
Passage East to Waterford City
One of the most interesting ways for visitors to arrive into Co Waterford by car is on a ferry. The car ferry from Ballyhack in Co Wexford crosses the mouth of the River Suir to Passage East in Co Waterford.
At Ballyhack take the ferry to Passage East. Just outside Passage East on the road to Dunmore East, you pass Geneva Barracks, which is prominent in the old Irish ballad, the Croppy Boy.
Continuing on this road, you will arrive on the picturesque village of Dunmore East, famous as a fishing port but also the home of several delightful bars and seafood restaurants. One can also take a sea angling tour and you may well see a dolphin or two on this trip.
This entire corner of East Waterford is littered with golf courses with courses located in Dunmore East, Tramore, Faithlegg, Waterford Castle, Williamstown and also one in the city.
