The inaugural John Treacy Festival Weekend took place in Villierstown, Co Waterford, on the weekend of Saturday, 14th May to Sunday, 15th May 2011. The festival highlight was undoubtedly the John Treacy Fun Run, which took place at 2pm on Sunday, 15th May 2011. However, the weekend was packed throughout with fun events for all the family.

Many of those who chose to walk, jog or run the 1km or 5km routes did so in aid of John’s nominated charity, Concern Worldwide.

Other events over the weekend included a Car Treasure Hunt, an auction featuring surprise guests, live music and dance, children’s entertainment, a Hog Roast and an opportunity to visit Dromana House and Gardens.

If that wasn’t not enough, participants did all of this in the company of one of this country’s greatest ever athletes, John Treacy!
